Hearing Our Value from Those We Serve
One of the best parts of my job is spending time with the Members we serve. I’ve got countless stories from Members who share with me how NISC solutions have benefitted their employees and their customers.
Some tell me how the efficiencies that come from having an enterprise solution have been life changing for a cooperative running a lean staff. Others have said that our solutions have helped them fix in a couple-minute phone call what it used to take an in-person technician visit to do, saving the company time and money and an added inconvenience to the customer.
I recently met with one of our Member CEOs, who happened to be new to the organization, but not to the industry. While we were visiting, he told me that the cooperative he previously worked at did not use NISC solutions and that he was always jealous when talking to others that did, because it was obvious that they were able to serve their customers better. Stories like this humble me, because they reiterate why NISC exists.

An employee at one of our Member sites remarked that they previously used several different types of software because they were told they were the “best of breed” for each individual business unit. However, after implementing NISC solutions, they realized that the NISC enterprise is, in fact, the best in breed solution for their organization because it is an ecosystem that’s already integrated, functions together and brings every department together under one umbrella.
Another Member, who had many long-term employees who had done things the same way for 30-plus years, was understandably hesitant to move away from its paper-based processes to NISC solutions. The CFO of the company asked these employees to give the solution one week, and if they wanted to go back to the old processes, they would discuss it. Just one week in, those tenured employees said they’d never go back to the way things were before.
Many of our Members are cooperatives, but you don’t have to be a co-op to appreciate NISC’s business model, which is based on servant leadership, seven cooperative principles and a set of employee-developed core values that ensure our focus is on people, not profits.

I guess that’s all just a long way of saying that we exist to make your lives easier. And while our solutions are pretty great, our Members understand that with NISC, it’s about more than just software.
